Fonterra gives Alto two thumbs up!
Alto’s commitment to major customer Fonterra has been recognised at this year's Fonterra Supplier Awards with an Award for Excellence in Supporting Innovation with the world class 38mm Induction Seal cap, Excellence in Print with the Kapiti White Chocolate & Raspberry 1L Ice Cream container and high commendations for excellent service.
38mm Induction Seal Cap for Milk Bottles - Henderson
Awarded for Excellence in Supporting Innovation – Brands Dairy
The 38mm Induction Seal Closure was designed as a next generation milk closure. This cap was designed in close partnership with Fonterra Brands New Zealand to be used for their entire bottled milk product. The cap was a New Zealand first and equalled other world class manufacturers with state of the art machinery. The new caps were launched in June 2007 and have exceeded all expectations. The design of the cap has greatly reduced retail complaints of leaky bottles in display fridges and thus created a cleaner, more sanitary environment.
Kapiti White Chocolate & Raspberry 1L Ice Cream Container - Hamilton
Awarded for Excellence in Print – Rigids
The new Kapiti 1L Ice Cream container is decorated with high quality in-mould labelling (IML), which replaced the previous self adhesive label. IML decoration did not only enhance the product's retail presence but also improved production efficiencies as there was no longer a need for in-line labelling. Fonterra has been a longstanding customer of Alto and these awards reinforce the strong working relationship between the two organisations. In addition to winning awards for outstanding products, our people, who are responsible for the day to day relationship with Fonterra, were also highly commended for their service delivery.

This award recognises the vendor representative who was regarded to have consistently provided excellent service and who showed the highest professionalism in ethics and honesty. Well done to the Alto design team, the Henderson and Hamilton plants and John and Phil on their great achievement!
